The group standard "Safety Design Specification for Power Battery Systems in Rail Transit", in which Qualtech participated in the compilation, has been successfully implemented and advanced

2025-07-08

Under the wave of the global rail transit industry's accelerated transition to electrification, the safety performance of battery power systems has become a core factor restricting the high-quality development of the industry. The "Safety Design Specification for Rail Transit Battery Power Systems T/CIET 1206—2025" group standard, released in April 2025, has been in effect for nearly three months and is reshaping the industry's development pattern with a systematic safety framework. As a core participating enterprise, Qualtech, with its profound technical accumulation and continuous innovation capabilities, has provided key support for the implementation of this standard, propelling the safety design of rail transit battery power systems into a new stage of development.

This document addresses the issues existing in the design process of power battery systems for rail transit and proposes systematic design norms, aiming to reduce the risk of battery system failures and enhance the overall safety of rail transit. The standard covers the application environment, basic requirements, design requirements, safety testing and verification, as well as production and maintenance safety of power battery systems used in rail transit vehicles. By implementing this standard, enterprises can obtain clear guidance for research and development and production, effectively curb the disorderly market competition caused by the lack of standards, and provide solid safety guarantees for passengers' travel and the operations of staff by improving the overall safety performance of products.
